It is the fulfillment of a vision of William R. Rose, owner of Rose Packing Company, a meat processing firm located in Chicago near Midway Airport.
Millrose is located at the intersection of Barrington Road and I-90 in South Barrington, Illinois.

Six 125 year old large barns have been moved to create the restaurant, banquet rooms, microbrewery and Millrose Country Store. The barns are complimented by beautiful outdoor patios with large fireplaces and umbrella covered tables.

Lunch and Dinner are served in The Carvery Dining Room, another distinct mood of The Barn.

The Carvery features intimate fine dining, for lunch and dinner. The room is low ceilinged and cloistered, its stone walls an original element of barn construction.

The chandeliers were salvaged from the country mansions of Wisconsin's brewery elite. The bar is made of English pine paneling from a tax-ridden country estate outside London. Flanking it are two 17th century wood screws used for crushing grapes in the Jerez region, famous the world over for sherries.

The rail on the curved staircase was imported from Italy for the home of one of the meat barons on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive. The crest over the fireplace in the main foyer is an outstanding example of old Spanish wood carving. It adorned a similar position in the Grand Dining Hall of a villa on the Costa Del Sol. The French scale, which hangs next to the stairs, once weighed meat on the Rue Bonaparte.
