Dating Service News

Definitely go to your company's holiday party, but if you're dating someone new, consider whether to bring him or her along, says Alana Beyer, vice president of It's Just Lunch, an international dating service for busy professionals. "If you just met or it's been a week or two, you may feel uncomfortable and they may feel uncomfortable," explains Beyer, whose Palm Desert, Calif.-based headquarters has offices in 100 locations worldwide.

"Forget about who should be president for a second. Who would you rather date: George Bush or John Kerry? According to a survey of 5,000 single men and women by the dating service It's Just Lunch, Bush wins this race. Of about 2,500 women polled, 49 percent said they'd rather date the president, while about one-third of singles said they would prefer Democratic challenger John Kerry. And 15 percent would go out with candidate Ralph Nader."

- Chicago Sun-Times

"Chicago-based It's Just Lunch, which also interviews candidates one-on-one before setting them up for a lunch date, has seen a suprising 21 percent increase in business in the past year, according to directo P.J. Osgood. 'That's huge for an established office,' she said of the 14-year-old company. She said many of the company's newest clients tried online dating but didn't have the time to make it work."

- Chicago Tribune

"It's Just Lunch is celebrating nearly 14 years in the dating business, with thousands of professional singles. It has created a service where everyone feels comfortable with the process of meeting a new person. The company was born in 1991 right here in Chicago and now has locations from New York to Singapore and in between."
